Hi, I’m Camille, they/them
I am a creative Black, African Diasporic, bi-racial, multi-ethnic and multicultural being. As a queer femme with non-apparent disabilities, neurodiversity, and a breast cancer survivour, I navigate the world with the wisdom of multiple experiences and resilience. My work as a facilitator and shape-shifter is rooted in activism for Black liberation, and I honour my connection to ancestral waters while drawing strength from spiritual heritage. I approach community building and social equity through the lens of my multi-cultural identity and lived experiences of transformation and healing justice.
As a Tkaronto (Toronto)-based Registered Psychotherapist, Somatic Movement and Dance Practitioner and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner™, I provide trauma-informed, socially-conscious therapy that honours the fullness of who you are. My work focuses on adult clients ages 18+. My practice is grounded in anti-oppressive, anti-racist, queer, feminist, environmental and disability justice values—with a particular focus on supporting BIPOC individuals at various intersections of their identities and healing journey—creating spaciousness for your authentic self to be seen, heard, and nourished.
My approach is relational, experiential, and embodied, drawing from over 40 years of dance and movement experience alongside specialized somatic training. I integrate wisdom from Cultural Somatics Institute training including Embodied Gatherings and embodied somatic practice groups, Somatic Experiencing®, Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy™, and Body-Mind Centering®. This foundation is enriched by education in anti-oppression, socio-cultural attunement, and ancestral wisdom.
Through an embodied approach, I help you recognize and process signs of stress and trauma, supporting you in developing the skills to tune in and listen deeply to the answers your body holds. Together, we explore how you embody relationships with various environments, institutions, and systems, gaining insight into behavioral patterns and creating pathways for healing.
I support people with chronic stress-related symptoms—often rooted in historical trauma—by honouring innate resilience and resourcing in cultural practices. I specialize in supporting individuals in finding appreciation for their unique rhythms, honouring their capacity and developing restorative practices.
My expertise includes supporting the diverse experiences of multicultural and racialized identities, diasporic journeys, and issues surrounding social-cultural dislocation and feelings of non-belonging.
I am experienced at supporting clients with racialized and intergenerational trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, and life transitions—as well as supporting the wellbeing of gender-expansive, non-conforming, 2SLGBTQ+ identities, sexuality and experiences.
I am a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT), and the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists – Ontario Chapter (CADA-ON).
My commitment is to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing, honouring both your individual story and the collective wisdom that emerges when we embrace our full humanity.
The Aya is a west African Adinkra symbol meaning “Fern”.
This symbol represents perseverance, endurance, and resourcefulness. It symbolizes defiance against oppression. It is derived from an expression that when translated means “I am not afraid of you. I am independent of you”. The fern is known for its capacity to grow in unusual places, withstanding tough climates and challenging environments.
Like the Aya, the human spirit holds the capacity to overcome adversity, to grow and even thrive despite the many challenging conditions it encounters. With support and collective healing we can learn to embody our resilience and harness our inner strength.

SWANAHT / MENAHT – cultural dance studies, training, performance | 19+ years of expertise
I acknowledge the sacred earth beneath my feet, known as Tkaronto and ancestrally as Turtle Island—the territories of the Anishinaabe, Mississauga and Haudenosaunee peoples. These lands and waters nourish and sustain me and I carry immense gratitude for them. I acknowledge with gratitude the current treaty holders, the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. I acknowledge these lands are bound by the sacred Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant—a promise to share and protect the gifts of the Great Lakes region with respect and reciprocity.
As a Black Canadian settler, and of African-Diasporic origin on Turtle Island, I stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples, committed to supporting resistance. I am committed to continuous learning, building relationships and the actions outlined in the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.
Ancestors: I acknowledge my African ancestors who were stolen from their homelands and forced to labour on these lands and all those of African Diasporic and displanted histories. I echo the call for reparations and justice. I honour the wisdom, power and guidance of all the ancestors, their contribution and spirit. Asé-O
